You mean "compact your messages" in Outlook Express?

: How can I eliminate the " Do you want to compress your messages? " popup?

Yes, the exact popup is: To free up disk space, OE can compact messages. ......OK or cancel

You eliminate it by doing as it asks: compact your messages.
And, this is an Outlook Express question, not Internet Explorer.
You should go to the OE newsgroups and do a little reading, as this
compacting issue comes up quite often, and you need to read the replies.
Failure to compact is going to lead you to some serious problems.

It's called "compacting" (in English), not "compressing".

General OE Caveats:

- Don't use Inbox or Sent Items to archive messages. Move them to local
folders created for this purpose.

- Empty Deleted Items folder daily.

- Frequently perform a manual compact of all OE folders while "working
offline" and you'll never encounter Automatic Compacting. More at
http://www.insideoe.com/files/maintain.htm

- Do not cancel Automatic Compacting, should it occur, and do not attempt to
close OE via Task Manager or shutdown your machine if Automatic Compacting
is taking place.

- Your anti-virus application's email scanning feature can cause corruption.
Disable it. It provides no additional protection.

OE never compresses messages. Compacting of folders is necessary or they
will become corrupted or else so
large that they can no longer be used. Deleting a message does not reclaim
the space. The message is marked as deleted but is still there until the
folder is compacted. That is why programs such as DBXtract work.

If a user closes compacting while compacting is in progress data loss will
probably occur.

Open OE and close it and let it compact the messages. After doing this it
won't ask again until you have closed OE 100 times.
