popup adds

My kids have somehow allowed a "virus like" program to be
downloaded and installed on one of my computers. The
program automatically links to the web address
xads.offeroptimizer.com on every second or third web page
that you access and adds pop up that are not your run of
the mill popups. I want to get rid of this program but
can't. I have listed the web site xads.offeroptimizer.com
as a restricted site, but it still shows up in my web page
history. PLEASE, can anyone help me?
