Populating cells in new blank fields...

I have an Access table, already populated, to which I have
added a new field. As such, all current records show an
empty field for the new one just added.

I wish to populate the new field for all records already
in the table with the same value.

Declaring a default value for the field only pertains to
new records but not to existing ones.

How do I do this?

Type to the SQL-View of a new Query:
(Set names of table/field/value to yours)

If it's a text-field:
UPDATE [YourTabe] Set [YourField]='YourValue';

If it's a number-field:
UPDATE [YourTabe] Set [YourField]=YourValue;

If it's a boolean-field:
UPDATE [YourTabe] Set [YourField]=0;

and run the query

Create an Update query based on the table, and put the desired value
on the Update To line of the query. Run the query using the ! icon.
