Since Monday 7/19, I get pop ups from Microsoft everytime
I search on the web. This did not occur before Monday.

Could you be a bit more specific? What kind of pop ups?
What are they saying?

Your machine may also have spyware/malware. Go get copies
of Ad-Aware and Spybot (both free) and run them. That
should clean your machine.

They appear to be advertisement pop-ups. Like mortgages,
credit cards, etc. I just openned another IE window and
go this pop up "AmericanSingles.com" The header on the
screen is "AmericanSingles.com - Microsoft Internet
Explorer"

Then you either have the aforementioned spyware/malware or
you are getting general pop ups.

Go get the two programs I mentioned previously and run them
on your system. Make sure you get the current version by
getting any updates.

If that does not resolve the problem you could also switch
to a browser which has built-in pop up blocking such as
Firefox (browser only), Mozilla (browswer, email, etc) or
Opera to name three.

Google also has a toolbar which blocks pop ups but from
what I have read it doesn't stop all of them.

try pestpatrol it works great.
