pop ups

Some how a file or script has found its way to my pc that
when i open IE6 a series of annoying pop ups start, these
are not derived from a specific site so i know a script
must be present on my pc... Nortons anti virus finds
nothing and i really want to get rid of whatevers causing
this... if i re-install IE could that help or am i resigned
to only use netscape untill i change my laptop ??? Any
sugestions would be great
 
Try this: Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Browsing
Uncheck the Enable 3rd party browser extensions

If this clears your problem then find out who the culprit(s) is/are with
these tools.

Let AD-Aware Scan your system for advertising Spyware

p.s Reset the 3rd party browser setting.
