pop ups

I am using Windows XP and IE 6.0. I have a pop up blocker on my Yahoo
toolbar but when I go to some websites ad's pop up and go across the screen
saying i have won something fantastic. I never click on them thinking it may
be adware or spyware. Is there a way to prevent this in IE 6?

Other than installing WinXP SP2 (which has its own pop-up stopper), run a
thorough check for hijackware.

When all else fails, HijackThis v1.99.1
(http://aumha.org/downloads/hijackthis.zip) is the preferred tool to use.
