I am trying to figure out why Microsoft could not include
a pop-up stopper with this program. I have a problem with
it. This program has never detected it. I tried xp 2, it
was not compatable with my system. What can be done with
this problem?

Thanks

SP2 is "compatable" with all XP systems and has popup blockers.

.
I am sorry, when I installed sp2, my system totally
bogged down. I researched and in some circumstances, the
mother board was not compatible. My mother board would
not work. Now what do I do for pop ups. By the way, sp2
did not stop the pop-ups that I had.

Well, this popup protection has alreday been broken for both
IE and Firefox.

Google toolbar can help you to get rid of a lot of popups.

About your motherboard, have you checked for newer BIOS ?
Maybe you tried to install SP2 with non removed spyware ?

2. THE POP-UP WERE THERE BEFORE AND I THOUGHT THAT NORTON
AND THE BETA WOULD TAKE CARE OF IT. NOPE. HOW DO I GET
RID OF THE FILE CREATING THE POP-UPS. SINCE NONE OF THE
EXPENSIVE SOFTWARE WILL NOT. SOMETHING IS SMELLY IN
DENMARK.

Hmm, CAPS LOCK problem also........... ;)

Try this then:

- Download/Install CCleaner, www.ccleaner.com

- Download/Install Lavasofts Adaware

http://www.download.com/Ad-Aware-SE-Personal-Edition/3000-8022-10319876.html?tag=list

* Also watch the video from Cnet about Adware within page
for best result.*

- Download Winsockfix, just a precaution if you loose your LSP.

- Restart in safe mode, press F8 during reboot

- Run CCcleaner and remove all temporarily junk.

- Run Adaware

- Run MSAS

- Restart

- If your PC works go to Windowsupdate and try again:

Happy hunting and computing....

Get HijackThis.exe from
http://tomcoyote.org/hjt/hjt199//HijackThis.exe

Save it to C:\hjt (new folder) then Open it and select
Scan and Save Log. Note where you saved the log then
send it to me as an attachment. You can try posting it in
this forum but I might miss it.

With HijackThis we can probably see what exactly is
causing the problem which is the first step in getting rid
of it.
