Am not sure this is the best place to ask this but I am
being driven nuts with pop ups. I have set the messenger
service to disabled but i am still getting tons making it
almost impossible to use the internet. I have aol as well
as road runner cable service and have set restrictions in
AOL as well. Is ther a good pop up disabler shareware that
someone could recommend??

The Google toolbar is outstanding and I use it on all my computers. Also make sure
you are using a firewall. I suggest a cable/dsl "router" device for your cable
connection. The are priced starting less than a month's fee to use you cable access,
can be purchased at Best Buy, etc. and are pretty much set and forget devices for
the average user. See links below for more information. --- Steve

There is a good one with Symantec Security or try typing
into a Google.com search "popups" & I'm sure there is lots
of free software outthere for this. Other sites to look
are twocows and/or pcmag.com.

I installed AdSubtract CE and it seemed to stop all (or
most) pop ups. Put a search in Google and you will find it.

Question: Where did you find the Messenger Service? I
cannot find it on my pc, running windows 2000 pro.
