In Internet Explorer, do you mean? You can disabled jscript (active
scripting) for the zone you'd like to disable them in, but this will have
many side effects, since there are few sites these days that do not use
client side scripting.

Or, you can use Mozilla. www.mozilla.org

If you're talking about Messenger Service pop-ups, get a firewall. Those
"net sends" are annoying, but the more important thing about them is that
they let you know that your system is wide open to the Internet and
vulnerable to hacking.

I use the hosts file from the Gorilla Design Studio Web Site. No additional software
is required since, by default, Windows checks this file before asking your DNS server
to translate the host name into the IP address. For more information, see:
