Pop up windows

I am having a problem with a particular website that uses pop up windows to
supply users with certain additional information. Previously these windows
have opened ok for me but suddenly they are not. I have run the website's
diagnostic test and the result comes back that the problem is being caused by
my not having Adobe Acrobat Reader installed. However, I do have it installed
- in fact I have uninstalled it and then reinstalled it but nothing has
changed.

Does anyone out there have any ideas what the problem could be? I will be
grateful for any help.

I tried your suggestion Silj, but it made no difference. In particular, it
did not provide me with the log in facility that I need to access the pages
that feature their legitimate pop ups. For example, if you want to look at
the form of a particular horse or access betting odds on a race these are
provided in pop up windows that are apparently in pdf format.

Something has just occurred to me. For some reason that I can't remember, I
was on the Manage Add-ons screen (Internet Explorer/Tools) earlier and
noticed that although Adobe Acrobat is listed under "Add-ons that have been
used by IE" it does not show under "Add-ons currently loaded in IE". Since
the Racing Post website Troubleshooter says that not having this software is
my problem (even though I do have it and have now reinstalled it twice), do
you think this could be something to do with my problem. If so, any idea how
I can add the add-on to the appropriate list?
