Pop-up message in XP Prof.

I have been having the same problem. It's coming from
some people calling themselves ENDADS or BYEBYEADS.Com.
They are the only ones doing it. They want you to pay
them so their ads will stop. Please do not cave in to
this blackmail. Contact Microsoft to complain about these
people. If enough of us complain to them they may issue a
patch to solve the problem.

Issue a patch? A patch for what? This isn't a security problem, ok it is
but not in the sense that a patch is needed. They're scum sucking bottom
feeding spammers exploiting a known service and using scare tactics to
trick unsuspecting users into buying thier product.

MS has issused warnings and directions on what to do here long ago.
