Hope some one might be able to advice me but there are 2
irritable things happening immediately after I have
logged on to Windows XP. The first is that the Windows
File Folder appears which I am have to close down and
then the Network Connections Box appears which unless you
state please do not show me again keeps re-appearing. My
computer used to go straight to my home page but I have
to go through this slow process of canncelling these 2
programs before I get to my home page. any ideas?

Hi,

I understand that when you logon to Windows XP, the Windows File folder
appears and the Network connection box appears.

For stopping the Windows File folder from opening, please follow the steps
in the article below:

System32 Folder Opens When Logging on to Windows XP, Windows 2000, or
Windows NT 4.0

Displaying of the Network Connections Box at startup could be due to many
reasons. Please find the solution to two of the scenarios:

If you have AOL connection, it has its own dialup capability built in. If
there is any dialup connection in Windows XP, please delete it as it might
conflict with AOL.

If MSN Messenger is enabled at startup, even that might cause the issue.
Please follow these steps to disable it.

1. Click Start > Run, then type in "msconfig" (without the quotes) and
press Enter.
2. Choose Startup tab.
3. Clear the check box for "msmgs" checkbox.
4. Click OK.
5. Restart the computer.

These steps should help you to resolve the issue.

Thank you,

Rashmi
