I have a number of PowerPoint slides in which I would like to use a button to
permit viewers or presenters to click to display some additional information
in a text box. It should be possible to close the text box without going to
the next slide. The text box should not appear unless the button is clicked.
The text box should not appear when transitioning between slides, unless the
button is clicked, even if the text box were left open when transitioning to
another slide.

Which version of PPT are you using? If you are using PPT 2002 or later, you
can do this by changing the entrance animation for the text box to be
triggered by clicking another object on the slide.

Kathy,
Thanks for the hint. I use PPT 2000 and it does not have that feature but I
can simulate with animation. I appreciate the help.
