I am running Windows XP SP1 with the latest version of ie. I use
maxthon (an ie shell) as my default browser. i am trying to use a
language learning website for school (it is mandatory, so i need to
solve this problem) but a popup blocker on seems to be getting in my
way.
I say a pop up blocker since i do not know what pop up blocker is
causing the problem. When i try to log onto the sight, i get a message
that a popup blocker is preventing the site from operating properly,
and that i need to disable it. I disabled the popup blocker in
maxthon, but it didn't help. So, i closed maxthon and tried using ie.
still no go. Then i uninstalled maxthon and tried logging in, still a
pop up blocker is not allowing the site to operate properly.
I have no pop up blockers. No search bars (no google, no msn, no
yahoo, nothing!) I disabled norton, and set my privacy settings to
easy. I turned off every means of protection that i have on my
computer, on the remote chance that they something was somehow ,some
way, blocking a pop up. NOTHING!!! I ran a search in my computer for
anyfile with the word pop in it, and then searched on googld for the
purpose of all the dll's that i didn't recognize. I will check the
processes next, but i am not optimistic. Does anyone have any advice?
Please help!!!
