pop server

everytime I try to get into my e-mail, a screen comes up
and tells me that the host 'pop3' could not be found.
I'm very confused...what do I do?

Check to see if you're behind a firewall. If so, make
sure you allow the appropriate ports for access. Also, if
you are on a proxy, you have to define the proxy client so
that you can get to the net with your email client.
