If an attachment is received by email (let's assume using OutlookXP on a
WinXP-pro system), which below can actually launch a virus.
1. Double clicking filename.exe. (just warming up, skip this, we all know
this can activate a virus)
2. Double clicking a filename.ZIP so windows will show the names of files
are packed into the zip. Can this under any circumstances let a virus
execute?
3. After above, clicking EXTRACT so the files are unzipped and put in a
folder of choice on the PC. Can this under any circumstances let a virus
execute? Even if there's an executable file in the unzipped batch, wouldn't
unzipping be safe as long as I don't DOUBLE-CLICK the ____.exe file?
Thanks
