Hi all,

Hoping someone has experience with HP evo workstations and desktops. They
all used to run Intel Pro chipsets. As soon as we started receiving new
machines with the Broadcom 10/100/1000 NICs, we started having severe issues
with network latency and poor network performance.

Has anyone else run into this type of issue? Older machines with half the
cpu speed are running circles around brand new p4 machines over the
network....

Rubin,

I've seen various problems with Broadcom Gigabit NICs. Does the latency
get any better when you put in different NICs? Have you tried a different
GB switch? Have you checked to see what the utilization of the NICs are?
Gotten an unfiltered network trace on the computer? Hopefully one of those
questions will help you figure out where you bottleneck is.
