I have created a group policy with an invalid Proxy server
address to prevent students from accessig the internet.
Once a user has logged in to a machine and attempted to
use the internet the invalid address gets saved into their
profile on the pc, so even after I disable the group
policy the machine is still looking for the invalid
address. Is this normal? I have restarted the computer
and the problem persists. I would appreciate any help on
this. Thank you.

Hello Daniel,

You need to first change the setting to whatever it is you like and then
define that setting in group policy. Once the "change" occurs the client
will get that change. If you have sufficient rights you should be able to go
into the registry and manually change the setting there.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet
Settings

ProxyServer

Again this is normal, you defnied the setting and then disabled the policy
so it would no longer apply, however these types of settings are tattooed in
the registry, you have to undo them via policy to set them back.
