Poison Chalice ?

Reports on the news earlier that if Newcastle go down the club could go into receivership.
The club would loose so much money by getting relegated that they will go bust if they loose the premiership money!
 
I got a text about this last night and thought it was an early April fools joke (as an avid Newcastle supporter!). That's our 4th manager this season :lol:

I really do think this could save us from relegation (just), as it is going to be a huge boost to the team (and is going to make sure the supporters are behind the team all game, which makes a big difference).

Would love it if we won against Chelsea this weekend :D

I think by the end of the year a handful of clubs will have gone under & out of business!

I got a text from me brother this morning about Shearer and I thought yeah right..April fool....As you say Ian I think it is going to be a major boost for the players..The supporters will be behind him 100% i'm sure, some have wanted him as manager for some time..Lets hope he proves his worth and they keep him as manager...See if Newcastle can play at the top again...

Prediction for this weekend is 2 -1 to Newcastle....Well mine anyway..

Newcastle have 8 games left to play of which they can probably win 3 of those, and if they are really lucky 4

Mr Shearer will have to work a miracle for them to beat the drop..:nod:

Newcastle v Chelsea
Stoke v Newcastle
Tottenham v Newcastle
Newcastle v Portsmouth
Liverpool v Newcastle
Newcastle v Middlesbrough
Newcastle v Fulham,
Aston Villa v Newcastle

I reckon we need 4 wins out of that lot to stand a chance. I think we may just do it :D The only won that looks really, really hard would be 'Pool away... and maybe Villa if they are in with a shout of 4th place at the end.

I think Chelsea could be 3 points, Stoke 1 point as you guys are good at home... Pompy, Fulham and Boro 3 points though :)

My 3 are West Brom , Middlesborough and Hull City (unbelievable after the start they made) or Newcastle for the drop.

The way Newcastle are playing it could be 3 points for Stoke.
Shearer has come in to late to save the club.
The only other bright news is that Sunderland could go down with Newcastle!

Well Ian i am very very sorry to say it but ya's didnt beat chelsea today so you odds are gettin shorter...i'll keep newcastle in my prayers for next week....
