Pointer changes by itself...

One of my machines has recently started to randomly change the mouse pointer
by itself at random times--every single pointer (out of the regular dozen or
so) somehow gets changed to the Move cursor (the 4-directional arrows), and
I have to go to the Mouse applet in control panel to change them all
back...only to have them all changed again the next minute, the next hour or
the next day--quite frustrating.

I can't find the right keywords on Google to bring up any reference to
similar issues...

Hi,

Check your options here: Start/Control Panel/Accessibility Options/Display
Tab/Cursor Options.

Hi Kelly,

Are you sure about this? I'm having problems with the mouse pointer--the
little arrow moved with the mouse--not the cursor used to indicate the
current position used for typing. I don't see anything on that tab (or any
other setting in the Accessibility applet) that could cause the behavior I'm
seeing...

This happens to me, too. Every mouse cursor changes to
the "crosshairs", except for the standard arrow. What
can you do?

Well, I'm glad *someone* is seeing the same problem...

This (so far) only occurs on one of my machines, which isn't even connected
to the Internet in any way, shape or form. I have SP1, but no hotfix, so
I'm ruling out any recent hotfix. The most recent significant change on my
machine is getting a DVD-RAM driver installed (came with my new DVD burner).
I honestly can't think of anything else.
