i have recently found out i cannot install any of my pocket pc games to my
pda that have an exe file because microsoft have not allowed backward
compatibility for active sync programs come on microsoft are you lot really
thick!!!! i cannot use my pda on vista if there isnt a fix

Don't worry, it is allowed. You need to download windows mobile device
center.

I can confirm it works fine for installing PPC programs.
 
I second that.

I've got a UTStarcom 6700, and when I connected after my Vista install, I
was only getting the Media Player sync. After I downloaded the Device
Center, I was able to install software just fine.

Makes you wonder why Vista did not ship with it in the first place, instead
of that awful sync centre built in. Maybe RTM does have it in it, we shall
have to wait and see :-)

I was already surprised to see the msg ActiveSync is not supported on Vista.
