I have Outlook Calendar installed on my pocket PC which synchronises with
Outlook 2003 on my desktop.

When I initially switch on my pocket PC I get advance warning on upcoming events
which is fine but I also get 5 minute reminders that automatically switch on my
pocket PC when i am not around and when i return I find my pocket PC has been on
for hours and the battery is depleted.

How do I switch off these alerts please. I have searched the help function and
on line sources but cannot discover an answer.

You should be able to change the power options on the PPC so that it goes
back to sleep if idle for a specified amount of time.
Start>Settings>System>Power>Advanced. Check "Turn off device if not used
for" in the "On battery power" section and give it a time. I use five
minutes.

I thought that the alerts on the PPC reflect the alerts established in
Outlook. However, on the PPC click Start>Calendar>Tools>Options and look at
the "Set reminders for new items" value.
