All my PnP drivers just randomly dissappeared. Now nothing is recognized.
what is going on and how do I fix this? System restore did nothing.
Aren't you the guy who had the mouse problem?
Your computer is eeevil.
The demon may be bad RAM, a failing hard drive, or a really bad virus.
Go with RAM first.
Download and burn a copy of memtest86+ from
www.memtest.org. Boot your
computer with it. Run for at leats 1 complete loop. But if it's bad
RAM, it usually will tell you in about 5 minutes. When if fails much
later in the game, it is often an overheating processor.
Next the hard drive, download the hard drive manufacturors disk check
utility. If you don't know it, or can't find it, get seatools from
seagate. Do NOT run chkdsk if you value your data. There are better
utilits to recover your stuff IF a failure is confirmed.
If it's a virus, consider a *clean* reinstall.
If the problem reappears after that, then it may be time to replace the
computer.
