Is there any way to get around having a white background for the transparent
areas of a PNG image that I want to embed as a background in 2007? When I
just do a standard insert of the image, the clear portions remain clear. It's
only when I try to embed the image as a PNG that the clear areas turn white.
Make sense???

I use .png images a lot and have not encountered this issue with any version
of PPT. But the question would be, how are the .png images created?

And if you could give some more detail on what your process is for 'a
standard insert of the image' and the process for 'embed the image' are that
would be helpful.

Remove "Red wine drunk **ERROR**" and that's probably what I meant.

I'm sorta guessing that TBPH is formatting the slide background with a png??

That way the transparent part will appear white.

Makes sense in a weird way ... you normally see through the transparent areas
to whatever's behind.

The background's behind everything.

So when you see through it you get[ERROR: DIVIDE BY ZERO]

So the thing to do would be to insert as picture and put the PNG on the
master, send to back. ON the background, not IN it, so to speak.
