Hello i bought windows XP Home edition. But it does not have word perfect or
word. It doesant have any office programs. Im trying to make a resume but i
have no programs to make one. I thought that those programs came with XP. Do
you have to buy them? Or did XP not install properly. I have SP2 installed
with a office update, but i have no office?
I need to make a resume real bad, I have it on disk but it wont open
because i have no programs to open it.

WordPerfect and Office programs are not a part of WinXP or any other OS system.
These will have to be purchased separately.

XP is an operating system, it does not include Works,Word or WordPerfect,
Excel, Access, Powerpoint etc. You have to purchase them.

You read/researched/were told/somehow believed that ANY of those
applications came with Windows XP Home?

Where did you get that idea from?

WordPerfect is owned by Corel - never been part of any OS.
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, etc) is a Office Suite from
Microsoft - never been part of any OS.
I suppose you could try Open Office if you cannot afford to purchase another

you could use Open Office, it's just as good as MS version, and is free
- even better!

Neither the Microsoft Office application suite, nor any of its
individual component applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access,
Outlook, etc.), have _ever_ been "part" of *any* Windows operating
system. They are, and always have been, separate applications, that
must be purchased and installed separately.
