I have a P4 3GHz HT 512M Ram and a Radeon 9200se. The computer is a
Fujitsu Siemens and it has recently just messed up. When i resart it
it just turns itself off and the performance is extremely slow. I have
been on PCPITSTOP and i am getting about 10% of the performance other
people get with the equivelent system.

Plz Plz help I am clueless and have no idea about how to fix the
problem any help would be apprieciated

Thanks

Jamie

Do you know why it started messing up, like did you install or uninstall
something. Did you run any spyware removal software and maybe deleted
something your need.

Could it be running hot? Perhaps open the case and let an external fan
blow inside. Make sure the cooling fans are operating and did you use
heatsink compound when you installed the chip?

And last, could it be spyware, or some type virus or trojan?

You're infected with a virus or a worm. Here is an experiment to try,
download a bootable Knoppix Linux CD. Knoppix runs from a CD so you don't
have to install it on your system, just burn the CD and boot from it. If
your system runs at normal speed then you'll know your problem is a virus
or a worm, if it's slow when running Knoppix then you have a hardware
problem, but I think that's unlikely.

We need to isolate the problem.
You can start by ruling things out.
If I understand , the computer is switching itself off?
If we assume you have already checked the connections I would install

another power supply and see what happens.
Initially I would also disconect anything connected to power that you
can
do with out to test the system.( CD/DVD drives)
I would grab the motherboard manual and try and boot into the BIOS
and see if things seem similar to what the manual says.
No matter anyway because I would also disconnect the hard drive and
try and boot into the BIOS again.
Then even install another hard drive just to rule it out as the
problem.
It does not sound like the video card , however the obvious way to
rule it
out is try another card.
It does not sound like ram, however you could rule it out by
installing
one stick at a time and reboot to see the result...

Good Luck

Thanks for the help i took the advice of taking of the side panel and
getting an external fan and that worked. Although it decreases in
performance after being turned on for a while. Anywho i got a waranty
with pc world and will take it to be fixed pretty sure its the fan.
Thanks again
