hey guys i am in a real hurry! can u pls help me!

see what i gotta do is, i have a big report in .xls form which is used daily
to track an agent's performance.

For security reasons, as many people daily read this report i've protected
the worksheets via password.

Everyday when i need to update it, i need to unprotect the sheet by going
via TOOLS> PROTECTIOn and key in my password.

I have recently seen a check box option which does the same operation just
by checking and unchecking the box. Ther's a macro behind it , i know the
code but dont know how to implement it and how to fix a check box in a
sheet?

Pls let me knowif any1 can help real fast, i can give u code n my worksheet
if required!
use excel 2002.

HELP!

Hi Jim

If you can simply sheck a box to unlock it, so can everybody else, and there
goes your security. Or if it's supposed to work differently, please clarify.

only i know of.

It sounds like you just want to minimize your mouse clicks to get to th
"Enter Password" box. Why not just put the "Protect Sheet" icon on you
toolbar?

With the sheet unprotected, right click anywhere on the toolbar an
select "Customize..." On the Commands tab, scroll down to locate th
Protect Sheet icon, click and drag the icon to any desired spot on th
toolbar. Click "Close". Now click the icon, set your password a
normal. Save and close the file. Next time opened, it will be locked
Clicking this icon will then bring up the "Unprotect Sheet" box
prompting for the password.

Of course, you will need to reprotect before saving and closing.
