i am locked out of a system in the office. anyone in the office can use the
system without signing on.
when the sys booted up this morning it came up with the sign-on screen and
asked for pswd. there is not a pswd for the sys. i pressed <enter> displying
a screen that said <the program issued a command but the command length is
incorrect>.
it did the same when i typed something in the pswd blank. after <enter> went
back to sing-on page with the typical "wrong pswd message"

anyone in the office can use this particular system without a password, or
their own comptuers dont require a password?

it sounds as if someone has put a password on your account, either you need
to find out who it was and ask them for the password, or you need a tool to
reset the password.

i don't think that is the problem with this particular computer. the boss is
the only person that is on this system. it is in his office and nobody
touches it except him. he did not do anything abnormal. do you know if there
is a way to access the user setup and password without windows booting up? do
you know anything about setting up a network that allows me to access a
remote system (not the simple shared folder network). i am not that
experienced with that type of thing. help if you can - thanx. marc

I am having the same problem as that stated below. I logged on no problem.
After I did the update I restarted as requested and when I attempted to
logon I get the same thing. Also happens in safe mode. Only way I can get
on is to do the <F8> and the use last good config. The update cue comes back
up too, but not with all the items that were downloaded the first time. No
passwords work for the other logons. This is a home computer, and we havn't
changed anything.

that worked - thanx
