Dear all,
when I send a mail to an email address and same mail I put
cc to a user(internal mail address)(like (e-mail address removed)
(email), anver(inernal address)) but when it received to
the (e-mail address removed), shows a cc send to (e-mail address removed)
I mean internal address also was treated as
same "@india.com" ( I think you got the problem). Infact
there is no address like (e-mail address removed), and internally
this mail was received correctly.

pls advise on this issue.

Regards
Anver

Hi Anver,

With what version of Outlook is this and what type of mailserver? Do you
mean that the internal address "Anver" gets the domain from the recipient
added instead of your domain to complete the address?

Outlook 2000-MM server
Just say like this, if I send a mail.
To - (e-mail address removed)(internet address) and
CC - Thomas(Internal address)
when I am checking this mail from hotmail I can see a CC
send to (e-mail address removed).(This emirates.net.ae is my
mailserver address(SMTP))I doubt it automatically picks
the mail server address to the internal users while
sending a mail outside.

pls help

Anver

Actually it does. There are internal addresses (x400 based) and Internet
addresses (SMTP). Well for Exchange that is (don't know that much about MM).
When an e-mail goes outside the organization the addres should be converted
to SMTP addresses. This should be the case for the senders address. I'm not
sure whether this is the case for added internal recipients (where is a test
message when you need one :-S). I'll get back to you on that but it I guess
it is more a server issue than an Outlook issue though.

I love it when assumptions turns out to be correct :-)
All internal addresses were transformed to their external addresses when
received by an external recipient.
If those addresses don't get transformed correctly with you you should check
the SMTP address of that user on your mailserver.
