Same issue with about blank - it keeps on keeping on.!!
I've tried 4 other spyware removal packages and a windows
registry edit as method as posted on another site - all
to no avail. Surely the guru's at MS can beat this
b@#tard! I'm close to bailing for a re-format re-install.

Did you try running the tools in Safe Mode?

Mark,
If you have not tried this yet (
http://www.malwarebytes.biz/index.php?page=downloads ) I highly
recommend it. Download it, run it, updated it, then boot to safe mode
and run a scan with it followed by a safe mode scan with MSAS. If you
want to look into About:Buster a little more, see their online forums
at: http://www.malwarebytes.biz/forums/index.php?

I've posted this link before, but have not said much about the author.
I first corresponded with this developer (RubberDucky) when he was about
14 years old. That was a little over a year ago. He's a great kid
that is putting his talents to good use. He impressed me enough that I
made a donation even though I did not need the tool.

I am with you on this. The AntiSpyware program seems to
do a great job of locating and removing these insidious
programs, but they just keep coming back.

I agree that About:Buster is the way to go. Be aware that
the latest versions of About:Blank will keep you from
running it. You need to get:

http://www.javacoolsoftware.net/downloads/missingfilesetup.
exe

so you can run About:Buster. The instructions at:

http://www.bleepingcomputer.com/forums/tutorial85.html

are about the best on the web. If you have trouble with
the HijackThis logs then send them to me.

Ron,
Thanks for the information on missingfile.exe. I was not aware of that
yet as I have not run into a case where about buster would not load.
I'm sure my time is coming and now I can be prepared for that. Thanks
again...
