Please SOS with data lose

In my work we use database created with access 2000. the forms in database is querie based . the problem is : when i change date to 2004 all my records disappeared, all tables are empty.in 2002 and 2003 work fine.I have backups but how can i prevent this and what is the reason for this. please help me

Describe what you meant by above.

Have you checked the DatasheetView of the Tables? Make sure that there are
no filters applied.
