Please settle an argument about whether or not Word saves...

...to a specific file every time you hit the save button. One user SWEARS
that every time you hit save the document gets saved to some mysterious
file..she wants to find that file. It would not be the file that you named
and saved to ..its a backup somewhere. My theory is that the user never hit
save and wants to blame us for lack of knowledge.

Does this really exist?

Is this a document opened from an e-mail message? That creates a temporary
file which Windows housekeping should eliminate when Windows is closed.
First place to look would be in the user temp folder.

Documents should not be opened directly from e-mail messages and especially
not if you want to keep them.

Thank you all.."supposedly" Word was never closed..however we also have a
document management server and the document could not be found in the shadow
directory either.
