I'm having a bit of trouble with my CD-Rom.
Whenever I insert a disc, be a music CD, a blank CD-R or a CD-Rom game, all
I hear is a clicking sound come from the disc drive.
When I try to access the disc, a message tells me to insert a disc into
drive D...when there clearly already is a disc.

I'm not so good with computers, so I could have a bit of help, it'd be
great. If not, I can contact Dell support over the week.

Clean the lens of the CDROM drive with a cleaning kit. If the
problem persists and it is known that the media is good, then
the drive probably needs replacing.

Try uninstalling the CD-ROM device in the Device Manager, then shutdown the
computer and re-start. XP should then find the hardware and re-install it.
