hello everyone
I need help with windows XP.
I'm getting an error message:

lsass.exe - Unable to Locate Component
This application has failed to start because LSASRV.dll
was not found. Re-installing the application may fix this
problem.

I don't have the XP CD, it came pre-installed.
Can anyone help me. What should I do?
I can not find anything in the Microsoft site how to fix
this.
Thank yo very much for your help. I appreciate it.
Have a great day

Download, install and run Ad Aware to check for malware on your system:
www.lavasoftusa.com.

You probably should make sure your antivirus application is up to date and
run a scan of your system as well.

As to your lack of XP CD, the manufacturer of your system was required to
give you some kind of recovery option. Unfortunately, those options are
usually nothing other than the ability to wipe your system, costing you all
your files and restoring it to its factory fresh condition.

Consider yourself forewarned. Your current issue may be relatively small
and solvable without resorting to whatever recovery option your system
builder has provided but at some point, you're going to find yourself locked
out of your system or dealing with some issue that cannot be fixed so
easily. If you have an XP CD, there are repair options and other things you
can try before resorting to anything more drastic.

There's no guarantee they will work for a specific issue but those have
worked and saved a lot of people a lot of misery. At the very least, make
sure you data is backed up so in the event you have to wipe the drive and
start over, you will be able to restore your data and its loss won't be a
consideration in how you might resolve issues in the future. It will
empower you enormously.
