Tim

I am having a problem that I just can't seem to fix. When
I compile a slideshow and attach audio files from my
collection I get the infamous "Windows has encountered a
problem and must close". If this is a codec issue, how
can I see what codecs I have/need to fix this problem? I
have tried PapaJohn's website but honestly I can't
understand it.

Thanks
Tim

Hi Tim,

Yes, the info can be over-whelming.

On codecs, can you search your computer for all files that end with a .ax
extension? Compare your list to see if any of those listed are in the list
at the bottom of the Problem Solving... Acceleration and Codecs page.

If you find one or more, rename it to change the .ax part of the name to
something like .ax_

If you need assistance doing this, I'd suggest asking a friend or relative
to help you. Sometimes it's not that easy because you might not be seeing
the file extension.
