I am brand new to computers , I bought this one second
hand and all start up discs for win. xp were destroyed in
fire . I've tried to get tech support from Gateway , but
they refused me because It's a second hand comp. I am a
low income single mother and can't afford all the start
up diskes right now and believe there has to be other
options, is there anyone out there willing to help me to
sort things out a little please contact me and maybe we
can chat or something . I am on windows messenger too.
sincerely : lost

Natalia;
Without the CDs you will be severely limited.
Perhaps the former owner could contact Gateway and ask about one or
more of the CDs.
There would be a small charge, but no where near as much as retail.
Also all you really need is the Operating system CD.
Drivers are available free download from Gateways website.

If you gave details of exactly what is happening, maybe someone could
help.

Do you have a computer club or society where you live ? Contact another
computer owner you know to find out. You probably could use some
on-the-spot assistance and many clubs have members who do just this--free or
for fee, depending.
