Ok, so I downgraded from windows xp pro, to windows xp
home, Pro was something I did not need..So I went to
install windows xp home and assumed that it would delete
my windows xp pro on its own. Well I dont think it
happend like that.before the install it told me something
about a partition (not knowing what it was I choose to
delete it).Well it wouldent let me delete it so I just
continued with thee windows xp home install..So it was
finished installing and one it came on, the only thing I
saw was the recycle bin, nothing else.. *is that normal?
*..and now my speakers dont work.. And I cant remember
where or if I have a disk for my speaker system..Is there
A way to make them work without the disk?.And if there's
2 window xp's on my computer, How do I delete the old xp
pro I once had on here?... sorry if these are dumb
questions I just dont know A whole lot about computers..
thanks..

For sound you will need to install the sound drivers.

You are probably better off performing a Clean Installation this way
to remove all traces of the old OS:
Disconnect all peripherals (camera, printer, scanner, etc)
Disconnect network/modem cable.
Go to BIOS and set CDROM as boot device before hard drive.
Insert Windows XP CD and reboot.
At "Press any key to boot to CDROM" quickly press a key and follow the
prompts for a Clean installation:

Delete all partitions in step 5 if you desire to erase all data on the
hard drive.
Partitioning and formatting will be done automatically.
All data will be destroyed, back-up important data first.

Enable or install firewall BEFORE connecting network cable.

Install ALL Critical Windows Updates:
Start/All Programs/Windows Update

After you are finished, you will need to load the appropriate drivers.

If your computer was shipped with Windows XP, these procedures may or
may not apply.
Check your manual or contact the computer manufacturer for more
details.

I slightly disagree With JJ. I would not disconnect all perpherials, at the
end of the installation windows will find all of them, (if there are drivers
on the disc). Only sound may have to be installed. even this depends on the
motherboard or the sound board. Otherwise follow JJ to the letter.
