No one ever replied to me the 1st time. Then I saw this pair of glasses next
to the subject that said it was being ignored????

Doesn't anyone have outlook express issues? All I want to know is how do I
delete old addresses from my address book without ending up with a bunch of
unknown's.

Can someone help me figure out how to delete old email addresses from my
address book? I will highlight what I want to delete and then click on
properties. But then when I try & delete the information and click out of
the box I get this message that there must be a name typed in the space. If
I just "x" out of it then I end up with the word unknown in my address book.
I have 6 unknowns now plus several old email addresses that I can't get rid
of.

The glasses means that you are ignoring it, not the rest of us. You must
have had the thread selected and clicked the option to ignore. Simply unmark
it.

To delete a contact, simply open the address book, select the contact and
hit the <delete> key. Don't try to edit the contents, just delete the entire
entry.
