Windows XP please help..

when i put a cd or programme or cd disk in to my drive, cd or dvd drive, they load up ok, but when i take them out i get this very anoying popup.. which says..

svchost.exe - No Disk

X there is no disk in the drive. please insert a disk into drive E:.

cancel try again continue

i dont know how to give you a screen shot ..lol.. but thats the popup i keep getting. no matter how many times i click it to make it go it just keeps poping back up..? please help..
 
Could we please have your system specs & operating system so we can help you better.
 
Yes, we could do with some more info on your hardware etc; Is this an HP ?


Do you have two CD drives ?

While a lot of programs use svchost, so do some nasties ... :)

hey guys thanks for the replies..ok.. my pc spec..



amd athlon 64 3500+

512 ddr 2 ram

windows xp home

80 gig hard drive

is this spec enough guys..?

i have 2 cd drives in my tower, a cd/rw drive and a dvd/rw drive, i know i probably only need the one, but hey..lol.. thanks for the link for the fs capture abarb..its great...

Ah.

I have a similiar problem on both of my pc's.

But it is only when it is one particular brand of disc (Pcgamer demo disk).

I have to finish using the application completly before ejectng the older disc, and on my older machine, wait a little even if the process is ended.

Then I take out the disc without any fuss.

Is it with any discs in particular?

I'll try to look up what the problem with the svchost.exe is.

Here is a little background information on what it is :)
 
it does it on all the disks i try mick, thanks for the info and link though, could be malware like it states on the site/link.. cheers,..,
 
Just in case it is, post a HijackThis log, in the spyware and virus's section.

In This part of the forum, there is a little guide on the 4th thread down the page about HJT. Download it, copy and paste the log and another member will identify what may/may not be wrong. :)
