Please help

I dont really know if I should be posting this here or not, but ive been
having some problems. I recently installed a new graphics card into my
computer, and ever since my pc has been restarting on its own, should this
have anything to do with the graphics card or perhaps something else?

Do you mean that it reboots spontaneously? Any error messages?
Or do you mean that when the PC is turned off, it automatically starts itself?

When the computer is on, the monitor goes into a kind of hibernation mode,
the pc appears to be on but the monitor power light is going on and off. The
only thing I can do to make it work again is to turn my tower off and back on
again.
 
Check your cables to the monitor. This happened to me the other day and it
was just a loose cable.
