hello

im lookimg into setting up a home network
what kind of router would you recomend for me

i want to be able to
(accsess my netwrok remotly and modify files)
(have a 802.11 G router)
(have a good bit of security)
(be able to stream music, video, and media from my desktop
to my laptop wirelessly (about 150 feet away)
(if possible be able to run programs on my laptop that
are saved on my destop hard drive)

i was looking around and i saw a netgear.
it was 100 mbps
transfer rate (wirelessly)
has the new WPA encryption
MAC address filtering

i was wondering if this would be a good router and would
this router give me higher speed downloads further away
than the standard 54mbps

thank you

Hi Nick
I use a D Link DI-614+ with DWL 650+ wireless cards (all 802.11 B).
Pleased to say network working fine (after tweaking) and I'm happy with the
D Link products in general.
I also use a DWL-800AP+ repeater in the mix that extends the range quite
nicely.
Prior to going "wireless" I had a NetGear ethernet setup that worked like a
charm.
Morale.....
