Have a gigabyte ga7vt600 M/b with onboard game port. It did not come with a
cable but I had 2 old ones lying around in the shed.

Both of them gave me "NOT CONNECTED" error in the game controllers panel
with XP when I connect up my thrustmaster steering wheel.

Anyway just wanted to verify that the cable wiring is still the same as it
was in the good ol days.

Does anyone know what it should be from M/B to 15pin DSub connector ?

Joystick connector

Pinout
(male connector on joystick cable)

.-----------------------.
\ 8 7 6 5 4 3 2 1 /
\ 15 14 13 12 11 10 9 /
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
1 XY1 (+5v)
2 Switch 1
3 X1
4 Ground (for switch 1)
5 Ground (for switch 2)
6 Y1
7 Switch 2
8 N.C.
9 XY2 (+5v)
10 Switch 3
11 X2
12 Ground (for switch 3&4) *
13 Y2
14 Switch 4
15 N.C. *
Some I/O cards have implemented only the first joystick functions: X1,
Y1, Switch 1 and Switch 2. Some joystick adapters have +5V output also
in pin 8.
Thanks JAD for that quick response,
thats sort of what I wanted but I have printed it out anyway and I will try
to figure it out ?
The M/Board manual states that the Game Connector on the board is...
Pin No.
1 VCC
2 GRX1_R
3 GND
4 GPSA2
5 VCC
6 GPX2_R
7 GPY2_R
8 MSI_R
9 GPSA1
10 GND
11 GPY1_R
12 VCC
13 GPSB1
14 MSO_R
15 GPSB2
16 NO PIN
What I would like is something like...
example:
Pin on M/B => Pin on 15pin DSub Connector
1 --> 1
2 --> 3
etc...
Any ideas ?
Just for future reference - I got my steering wheel working however only
button 3 and 4 work which is ok since I use them to change gears on the
steering wheel (Thrusmaster Grand Prix 1)
This would probably suit all latest Gigabyte M/B's and considering the Game
cable is no longer supplied hopefully it may help out someone else
Pin on Joystick end of cable -> Pin on M/B
1 -> 1
2 -> 13
3 -> 2
4 -> 3
5 -> 10
6 -> 11
7 -> 15
8 -> 5
9 -> 12
10 -> ???
11 -> 6
12 -> ???
13 -> 7
14 -> ???
15 -> ???
I dont really need the other 2 buttons but shouldnt be too hard to figure
out with only 4 wires unconnected. If anyone gets them going please post.
