I have set up a new domain, and I have preconfigured
computers running 2000 that were set up under admin
account with certain software that the user will need. I
have to make them members to the domain admins to get the
software to work for them when they log in. What am I
doing wrong, I do not want them to have the access that a
domain admin gets I just want them to be able to use the
software loaded to the computer. Thanks for all you help:)

Can you please provide more information. How are you assigning the
software. Where? When? What interface, etc.

.
Since we have very little in the way of specifics, I would
gather that you feel that you need to log on a Domain
Admins because - by default - the Domain Admins is a
member of the local computer's ADMINISTRATORS group (
applies to WINNT 4, WIN2000 and WINXP ).

You can add the user to the local ADMINISTRATORS group to
initially install the software and then make them a member
of the POWER USERS group....

Ok when I first set up a computer on the I load
everything via CD-rom... Outlook, office and our internal
software. I then add them to the domain running win 2000
server. If I sign on as that user to the domain I and try
to run any programs I get an error. In the profiles the
default is domain users, when I add domain admins they
have no problems after that. Thanks hope you can help....

If I understand your problem, it sounds like you want to add the Domain User
account to a local group with adequate privileges to run the applications in
question, like maybe the Administrator or Power User Group.
