Please help with taskmgr.exe

Hi I hope I am posting this to the correct group. Using XP Pro. Two gigs
of ram p4.
I have a strange problem. If I right click on the task bar and choose
task manager, it doesn't come up for about 5 minutes and then when it
does it hangs.

Here is the unusual part. If I start taskmgr.exe with the default
keyboard call (ctrl shift esc) it come right up and is quick and
normal.

I could live with it if I had too but, I am really curious why and how
this can be.

Anybody have any idea on what I can try?

Task Manager works fine except when launched from the taskbar's right click
menu? May want to take a look at the following page by MVP Ramesh
