Hello,

I had the misfortune of having a repair installation of Win XP go awry.
Thankfully, I have a second disk and I was therefore able to do a fresh
install on my D: drive. Although it is very time consuming to reinstall all
my programs and settings, I am doing so by necessity. I would be most
appreciative for anyone's help/guidance on the following:

Can the old Windows folder and all my Program Files be safely deleted from
my C: Drive and, if so, when should I do this? And, how do I get rid of the
message that comes up during the boot process that asks me to choose between
Windows XP and Windows XP? The second choice, my original installation,
takes me nowhere--apparently because of the corrupted setup process.

Thank you so much for taking the time to help,
Rich

Hi Rich,

You can delete the old folders when_you_decide you don't want them.
That is, all your apps are running as desired, and you have all your
data.

After you delete, to get rid of the boot message, go to Start > Run >
type 'msconfig' (without the quotation marks) press enter.

Go to the BOOT.INI tab and press 'Check all start routes'

This should get rid of the boot prompt, after you have deleted the
folders.

Hope this helps.

It did!

Thanks, Roger...
