Hi All,

I connected my Windows XP Laptop to my client's domain. It applied all
security settings of that domain to my laptop.

When I came back to office and tried to connect to my office domain I
noticed that I have lost the privileges of shutting down or restarting.

How can I reset all my security settings to default? Is there an easy way to
do it?

Thanks for your time.

Regards
Anand Ganesh

U must b the local admin user, or, a user in the administrators group.
Ask the system administrator of your client to send u a registry file or other info how to change or remove there security policies.
but first, b a local admin, mabt try to open a new user on your pc and import all your desktop/settings to the new user.

Thanks Gil.

I tried creating new user. With the System administrator I even modified the
computer name etc. But after changing the computer name it will try to
restart and never restart as we have lost the restart previleges.

Finally I ended up doing a fresh install of the OS.

Thanks
Anand Ganesh
