Please help re Outlook Express

Hi. I have somehow messed up my computer's Outlook
Express. It used to be the default email, then I switched
to Outlook. I have just switched back to OE 6(I won't bore
you with the reasons) and it doesn't work. I have made it
my default email and the program opens but apart from
sending and receiving, nothing works. I can't read the
emails (apart from glancing at them in preview), I can't
start a new email, I can't reply, I can't forward, I can't
open my address book. An error message comes up each time.
I think it might be linked to the address book someone. It
says the OE is not configured and I should reinstall.
Guess what, I have - at least 6 times. Sometimes
uninstalling it, sometimes overwriting it. I have tried
OE5.5 but that doesn't work. Somehow I have messed up my
files in Windows or something. I have tried re-installing
IE6 most of the time as well. I have tried Microsoft
websites. I have tried everything. I have tried my ISP's
helpline. Nothing doing. If anyone knows, could they
please email me on (e-mail address removed) or reply here
(preferably email me).

Ask in an Outlook Express forum. This is an Microsoft Office Outlook forum.

Outlook Express is family of Internet Explorer and Outlook of the Office
family.

in one of these newsgroups:
microsoft.public.inetexplorer.ie4.outlookexpress for OE 4.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie5.outlookexpress for OE 5.x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie55.outlookexpress for OE 5.5x
microsoft.public.windows.inetexplorer.ie6_outlookexpress for OE 6.x
microsoft.public.internet.mail.mac for the Macintosh version of OE

If those groups aren't carried on the news server that's carrying this group
try using msnews.microsoft.com (MS's public news server that's the source
for all the microsoft.public newsgroups).
