Hi - if anyone can help - much appreciated.

I have just brought a lap top with windows vista already installed. Having
heard comments suggesting it is such a new program is could cause me trouble,
I am delighted to say this is the first time I have suffered a problem, other
than this I am happy with Vista.

WHen working from home, I use a mymail email log in. Its only on this Vista
machine i have encountered a problem. I can log in and read the emails
perfectly fine, but when i attempt to reply/forward/new mail etc, a new box
opens but in the body of the mail is a small red X in the top left hand
corner of the text box and i cannot write any text. If i then hit 'send' this
is the error message I get:

The page cannot be found

If anyone can offer help - please do! Its essential that I can use my emails
away from the office.

Many thanks

That is not a problem with Windows Mail, and I don't think its a problem
with your machine. It sounds as if the website that handles your mail is
having problems. You might try contacting them via their website.

Its been like this for the last week though. Fortunately I have another desk
top computer to hand at the moment and this is working fine on there but its
a hassle and I may not always have a desk top computer to work from...

I am not clear whether this is all in Windows Mail or Internet Explorer.

If it's in Windows Mail are you saying that the message pops up in Windows
Mail? That looks more like an IE message.

Then its an IE issue, and not one related to WinMail, as WinMail can't
access HTTP mail.

Sorry for the confusion - i am opening mymail in windows explorer.

I can open the email fine and read new mail, i just cannot respond. When i
try to reply or forward, the body of the email is a red cross. I cannot write
anything or send.

Im not exceptionally clued up on computers - what is an IE message and how
can i go about fixing the problem.

Thanks

I don't know what "mymail" is, but your issue sounds very much
like the problem Vista users are having with the OWA mode
of Microsoft Exchange Server. This is because Windows Vista
no longer includes support for the ActiveX control that is used for
HTML editing in Outlook Web Access. Your employer's server
administrator will need to apply a hotfix to the Exchange server.

You need to visit the "mymail" website and ask them how to set things up for
Vista.
