Please help - need to format

Can anyone tell me how to start over from scratch when
Windows XP was installed at Dell, and I don't have CD-ROM
to reboot from?

I have tried several times to run MS Anti-Spyware and
Adaware. All of it gets hung up on a file
named "Commonname". Adaware show a
file "Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run:" and
the seems to list out a billion random letter number
combinations. If anyone can help me get rid of this -
PLEASE HELP.

You should have recieved a system CD. If you didn't, call Dell.

There should have been a System Restore CD included, but
they (Dell tech support) should be able to provide this if
you didn't get one or it is lost. Also, on some systems
they actually have an image of the original config on a
hidden partition. There is a command line that will bring
it up and start the rebuild. I believe they refer to it
internally as ZZTop, you might ask the support person if
your system might have this...
