please help my uncle

hello :

my uncle,55 years old,and he is ill these days,his cardinal symptom is that
he felt hard to breathe,so he can not fall asleep allday,we double that it
may be- lung cancer,there is a shadow on his lung,so we are very sad.I want
to ask what should we do to cure lung-cancer?do we need a operation??
